Careers Tasters - Apply Now!
Explore Your Future with Career Tasters.
Are you going into Year 10 in 2026 and curious about what career is right for you? Career Tasters are short, hands-on experiences designed to help Year 10 students explore vocational pathways and discover what inspires them.
A Taste of Your Future
Whether you're curious about health support, beauty, construction or another trade, Career Tasters offer a practical glimpse into real-world skills and industries.
Career Tasters aim to give students an opportunity to experience a range of industries, allowing them to make an informed decision across their senior schooling years and beyond.
Hands On Experiences for Informed Choices
Each Career Taster runs over five days and the structure includes introductory activities focused on safety and career awareness, followed by immersive, hands on activities and projects that explore different vocational areas. This format allows students to engage with multiple industries, broadening their understanding of career pathways and helping them make more informed decisions about future study and employment.
Designed for students in Year 10 across Central Queensland who are interested in exploring vocational pathways.
The program is non-accredited, meaning it does not lead to a formal qualification. Instead it offers valuable hands-on experience and practical exposure to real-world skills that students may not otherwise access during high school.
Students who complete a Career Taster will receive a Certificate of Participation acknowledging their involvement and the skills explored.
Participants can take part in up to two different Tasters, gaining exposure to a variety of industries and hands-on experiences.
